In just four years, Austin’s Fantastic Fest has quickly become one of the world’s premiere genre film festivals. During his keynote address at this year’s International Film Festival Summit.in Las Vegas, Variety president Charlie Koones named Fantastic Fest as “one of the 10 Festivals we love” alongside industry heavy-hitters Telluride, Toronto and Cannes. With over 100 films representing over 30 countries, Fantastic Fest is the largest festival of it’s kind in the United States.

Fantastic Fest has also played host to a number of high-profile premieres including the first public screening of APOCALYPTO with Mel Gibson in attendance in 2006 and the World Premiere of THERE WILL BE BLOOD with director Paul Thomas Anderson in attendance in 2007.

Important dates have been announced for the 4rd Annual Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
Fantastic Fest is an eight-day festival of the best new sci-fi, horror, fantasy and genre films, as well as choice classic and obscure cult titles from all over the world. The festival director is Tim League (Alamo Drafthouse Cinema). Programmers include Harry Knowles (Ain't It Cool News), Blake Ethridge (Cinema is Dope), Todd Brown (Twitchfilm.net), Zack Carlson (Alamo Drafthouse Cinema) and Lars Nilsen (Alamo Drafthouse Cinema) .
